I'm back :)

I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry... I promised I wouldn't let my blog become idle for a long time but here I am again after being gone for half a year. :P

In my defense, a lot has happened.

In December of last year, my dad underwent a quintuple heart bypass surgery, carotid surgery and eye surgery as well. It took it's toll on my family, me definitely included. I left work for more than a week to stay in the hospital with my dad and my mom, who at the time seemed even worse than my dad. We spent Christmas there in the hospital.

I thought after all that everything would be better: He had a successful operation and we could spend New Year's at home.... or so I thought. My dear grandmother's condition worsened with each day. She suffered a heart attack in her already much deteriorated state.

New Year was spent at the hospital as well.

She passed away on Jan. 3, 4 days shy of her birthday. Of course, tears were there, but we tried our best not to let them out. Sudden outbursts of emotion are not encouraged when someone next to you is still recovering from surgery. So is the way of my family, "best be happy in times of misery".

For now, everything is good. We have all moved on and we just try to celebrate life the best we can. :)
